Ljubljana, Slovenia

The Republic of Slovenia is a small, but very topographically diverse country in the far South of central Europe. It is made up of four major European geographic landscapes; the Alps, the karstic Dinaric Alps, the Pannonian and Danubian lowlands and hills, and the Mediterranean coast. It occupies an area of 20.273 km2 and has a population of 2.066.880 people (in January 2018).

Ljubljana is the tongue-twisting capital of Slovenia, the country’s biggest city and the political and cultural heart of the Slovenian nation. It is an important European commercial, business, exhibition and congressional centre as well as the transport, science and education centre of Slovenia. Thus, it is a vibrant oasis, where one can find plentiful cultural activities, culinary delights, and architectural sights to discover. Exuding both the sophistication one might expect of a larger metropolis and the charm one would find in a small town, Ljubljana offers the best of both.
